Uninstall MySQL mac

I frequently have to uninstall mysql on mac These are the commands to do remove everything.

Start terminal

Edit the hosts file using your favorite editor (Vi, Vim, nano, emacs, textedit, TextMate, TextWrangler etc…….).
Remove the line

        “MYSQLCOM=-YES-“

from the

/etc/hostconfig file

Save and close the file.

In terminal run these commands

sudo rm /usr/local/mysql

sudo rm -rf /usr/local/mysql*

sudo rm -rf /Library/StartupItems/MySQLCOM

sudo rm -rf /Library/PreferencePanes/My*

sudo rm -rf /Library/Receipts/mysql*

sudo rm -rf /Library/Receipts/MySQL*

sudo rm /etc/my.cnf
