Unable to find Mysql headers file mysql.h

Undoubtedly you have run into this problem while running a ./configure while compiling source code.

I ran into this error when I was trying to setup Barnyard2 on Snort.

The reason for the problem, is that your linux box does not have the mysql developer package installed.

On ubuntu go to the synaptic package manager and install libmysqld-dev
